South American white prawn, also known as white shrimp and white prawn, is similar to Chinese prawn in
appearance, and its normal body color is light gray. It is native to the warm waters along the Pacific coast of
South America, mainly distributed from northern Peru to the Gulf Coast. It is currently the single highest yield
shrimp species among the three major aquaculture prawn in the world. Prawn is not only suitable for
aquaculture in coastal areas, but also for freshwater aquaculture in inland areas. Prawn has strong vitality,
wide adaptability, strong disease resistance, rapid growth, thin shell and fat body, fresh meat, meat yield up
to 65%, rich nutrition, so it is very popular in the domestic and foreign markets. The Doumen District of Zhuhai
City, which covers more than 20,000 mu, is also the national penaeus prawn breeding record, national food
safety demonstration base, and the largest penaeus prawn breeding base in the Pearl River Delta region.
